Capturing demand for cherry blossom viewing and inbound tourism to provide a special sake experience

- Background of our Proposal -

Regarding the spring pop-up event for the sake brand "SAKE HUNDRED," Clear Co., Ltd. consulted us on the design of a pop-up event space aimed at expanding product awareness and creating opportunities for tasting and sales. GINZA SIX, the venue, is a commercial facility visited by many people from both Japan and abroad. Furthermore, during the spring cherry blossom viewing season, an influx of inbound tourists interested in Japanese culture is also expected.

Therefore, BEEATS proposed a space that does more than just seasonal decoration; it incorporates the traditional motifs and sentiments unique to a sake brand, embodying the brand's dignity and worldview.

A space that signals the arrival of spring and expresses the dignity of the brand

ーPoints of Space Design & Constructionー

  • Suspended a "Sakura ball," based on the "Sugidama" (cedar ball) motif familiar as a symbol announcing the completion of new sake, to act as an eye-catcher.
  • Avoided direct "Japanese-style" color schemes, using a base of white with a pale cherry blossom pink gradient to express a sophisticated nuance of cherry blossom viewing.
  • Japanese-modern spatial decoration incorporating "namako-kabe" (lattice-patterned wall) style design of atmospheric sake breweries
  • Subtractive display design adopting transparent acrylic material so that sake bottles shine beautifully as the main attraction

Constructed an event space that combines springtime brilliance with brand dignity by incorporating modern arrangements of traditional sake motifs (such as Sugidama and Namako walls). Designed an experiential flow that leads domestic and international customers to naturally take interest in the products, leading to tasting and purchasing.

Embodying the brand world and contributing to increased awareness

-Results-

In line with the special Japanese season of cherry blossom viewing, we created an immersive experience design that makes visitors want to try the products. By using a highly visible eye-catcher called a "Sakura ball" to attract customers, and a sophisticated product display/VMD using transparent acrylic, we created a space where the appeal of sake is intuitively conveyed. We built a touchpoint to convey the charm of the brand to many customers, including inbound tourists, and contributed to expanding awareness and creating sales opportunities.
