Operational burden due to printing/posting tasks each time is an issue

ーBackground and Issues of Introductionー

At this facility, which conducts various training throughout the year, printing and posting guidance materials to walls, etc., were previously done manually every time a training session was held. During periods when training sessions are concentrated, the burden of advance preparation was significant, and reducing staff work man-hours was an issue. Therefore, to streamline information dissemination and promote paperless operations, the introduction of digital signage was considered.

UI that can be used intuitively by staff of various ages

ーPoints of "Clomoni"ー

  • Digitizing facility guidance within the building to improve visibility
  • A simple management screen that anyone can operate intuitively
  • Dispelling operational anxiety through preliminary trial verification

When introducing, there was a concern about whether staff of various ages could thoroughly master the system. However, by conducting trial verification in advance and having them try out the operability of the "Clomoni" management screen, they experienced a simple UI that can be operated intuitively without specialized knowledge. Dispelling anxiety about operation was the deciding factor for the introduction.

Reducing printing man-hours and smoothing training operations

ーResultsー

By installing two digital signage units in the facility, we achieved the digitization of the guidance material printing and posting tasks that previously occurred each time training was held. We are now able to disseminate seating charts, time schedules, and facility guidance to participants in a timely and easy-to-understand manner, contributing to a significant reduction in preparation work man-hours and smooth training operation.

What is the Policy Research Institute?

METI is working on various issues such as Japan's industrial promotion, stable supply and safety measures for energy, and policy-making to support the challenges of companies and regions.
The Policy Research Institute is a facility agency that plays a part in this, and is a training facility where on-site staff learn laws, technology, and safety measures.
Specifically, we conduct training in various specialized fields such as trade management, industrial safety, and energy. For example, we also conduct training to learn rules for safely handling energy and materials used in our familiar surroundings, such as gunpowder used in summer fireworks festivals.
Through such training, we are working to foster human resources who support daily life and industrial activities.
