How to achieve both a sense of unity as a joint exhibition and maintain each individual personality

-Proposal Background-

For the joint exhibition by MIL Inc. and ZENKIGEN, Inc., we were asked to create a space that provides a sense of unity as a co-hosted exhibition while naturally conveying the personality and differences of each company to visitors.
We were told that in past exhibitions, the impression of the displays were similar, making it difficult for visitors to grasp the differences between the companies, and that there were issues such as people concentrating in certain areas, which caused congestion in the flow. This time, balancing visibility and flow was one of our themes. Based on these reflections, we proposed a booth configuration that takes into account flow and visibility.

Design that brings out the appeal of a joint exhibition

-Points of booth design-

  • Installed an eye-catching tower on the main traffic line side to ensure visibility from a distance
  • Improving appeal by clarifying differences through color-coding for each service
  • The floor was also divided into two colors to visually distinguish the area for each service
  • A layout where the joint exhibition can be understood at a glance from both the left and right traffic lines
  • Flow design that utilizes the three-sided opening for a sense of openness and circulation

By combining several ingenuity, such as visibility, flow, and ways of showing through color, we aimed for a space with a pleasant sense of unity where the differences between the two companies are naturally conveyed. We designed it so that visitors could easily stop by and move through the booth without difficulty.

Sign tower that enhances appeal through rotation and color-coding

The sign tower installed on the main traffic line side functions as an eye-catcher that enhances visibility from a distance. Different service names are displayed on the front and back, and rotation effectively promotes two types of services. Furthermore, by changing the colors for each service, we emphasized the differences in visibility and impression, using the visuals as an opportunity to stop people in their tracks and lead them naturally to the booth.

Realized a joint exhibition booth where the features of both companies are naturally conveyed

-Results-

By putting ingenuity into color usage and layout, the booth turned out to be one where visitors could easily understand the differences and features of each of the two companies, despite it being a joint exhibition.
The design, which also considers visibility and flow, led to a better understanding of the exhibition content and served as a catalyst for people to stop by and listen to our explanations.
